Privacy Policy
The desktop app runs offline and collects no personal data. The website collects your email address in 2 places: the notify form and the purchase flow. This page explains what we collect, why, and who else handles it.
Who controls your data
The RAG Handbook and this website are run by hyoogoo, a project operated by an individual based in Malaysia ("the seller", "we"). For any privacy question, email hello@hyoogoo.com.
The desktop app
The app runs entirely on your device. It makes no network calls for the core reading experience, runs no analytics, and sends us nothing. Your license key and your reading progress are stored in local storage on your own device, and that data stays there.
The website
We collect your email address in 2 cases, and only those 2:
- The notify form. If you ask to hear about new material, we store your email address and use it to email you about updates to the book. The lawful basis is your consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- When you buy. At checkout, Polar collects your payment details and passes us your email address, along with the name and billing country it holds. We use your email address to send your license key and download link. The lawful basis is performing the purchase contract with you.
Who else handles your data
3 providers process data on our behalf. All 3 are based in the United States.
- Polar is the merchant of record. It runs checkout, payment, and tax, and holds your name, email, payment details, and billing country under its own privacy policy.
- Resend sends the notify emails and the license email, and stores the email addresses we send to.
- Vercel hosts the website and runs the 2 functions above. It sees request data and your email address in transit.
If you are in the EU or UK, sending your email to these US providers transfers your data outside your country. Each provider relies on Standard Contractual Clauses for that transfer, as set out in its data-processing agreement.
What we never do
We never sell or rent your data, and we share it only with the providers above to run the service. The book and website are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. We take reasonable measures to protect the little data we hold, and each provider is responsible for the security of the data it processes.
Cookies
The website sets no analytics or tracking cookies. The Polar checkout page may set cookies that the payment process needs, and we use no other cookies.
How long we keep it
- Notify-list emails: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Purchase records: kept for 7 years to meet tax and accounting rules. The lawful basis is our legal obligation.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the data we hold, correct it, or delete it, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@hyoogoo.com and we will respond. You can also unsubscribe from notify emails using the link in any of them. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and the date below.
